Abstract

To estimate the antioxidant properties of cashew fruit samples collected from M. pudur and periyapattu. Antioxidant components may vary turn on where cashew apples collected. A relative study of protein and non-enzymatic inhibitor properties of cashew apples was undertaken here. Within the DPPH inhibition assay, the M.pudur cashew apple sample showed higher restrictive activity against ferrous salt (lipid peroxidation) compared to plain vitamin C. In enzymatic and non-enzymatic inhibitors, however, M. pudur exhibited maximum activity (GSH 37.3 0.01 nano mol/ml, glutathione peroxidase 26.3 0.01g / ml more than periyapattu.
