RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL MATURITY AND NON-COMPLIANCE OF HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS

Abstract

In this study, an attempt has been made to study the relationship between emotional maturity and non-compliance of higher secondary students. The Emotional Maturity Scale (EMS) constructed and Standardized by Yashvir Singh (2010) and Non-Compliance Scale (NCS) Constructed and validated by the investigator (2018) were used to collect the data from a sample of 900 higher secondary studentsstudying in MadhuraiDistrict of Tamilnadu, India. The survey method has been followed and random sampling technique was used in administration of the research tools. The result of the analysis reveals that the higher secondary students are having extremely unstable level of emotional maturity and non-compliance is average. It is found that higher secondary students differ significantly in emotional maturity in respect of gender andtype of school management and they do not differ significantly in emotional maturity in respect of locality of the student. It is found that higher secondary students differ significantly in non-compliance in respect of gender and type of school management and they do not differ significantly in non-compliance in respect of locality of the student. It is found that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional maturity and non-compliance of higher secondary students.
