Abstract

The investigation of the crime scene deals with the intends at chronicling the place as it is initially perceived and thereby soliciting all substantial shreds of evidence presumably opportune to the explanation of the situation. Physical evidence has the potential to play a critical role in the overall investigation and resolution of a speculated fugitive act. The examination of latent fingerprints involves several steps, starting from simple to increasingly subtle. At the crime scene, forensic experts commonly encounter fingerprints on different surfaces like papers, furniture, glassware, metallic surfaces, edible products, human skin etc. Corresponding to research done, the skin of a human is one of the meagerest suitable surfaces for the development of these impressions. This review article focuses on the development of latent fingerprints deposited onto human skin.
