A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON CYBER KILL CHAIN AND APTs LIFECYCLE

Abstract

Recently there has been an increase in targeted cyber-attacks which as a result has enhanced the interest of research in cyber security. Cyber-attacks have massive effects on an organization, enterprise or on government bodies. Kill chain has been introduced to detect advanced persistent attacks (APT). These attacks do massive disruptive effects on groups, enterprises and governments. Cyber kill chain is a model which elaborate cyber-attacks so as to develop incident response and analysis capabilities. This paper will broadly classify the methodologies, techniques and tools involved in a cyber-attack. This paper intends to help to realize the options available to an attacker at every stage of a cyber-attack for a cyber security researcher.
