PREVALENCE AND ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY PATTERN OF PATHOGENS ASSOCIATED WITH RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION
Abstract
Background: Bacterial pathogens are the leading cause of respiratory tract infection in humans. Increase the rate of antimicrobial resistance among clinical isolates is a growing concern worldwide.
Objective: Prevalence of bacterial isolates and their antimicrobial susceptibility pattern involved in respiratory tract infection at diagnostic center in Northern India.
Method: A prospective study of culture results of RTI was carried out. A total of 1178 samples were analyzed for isolation, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing of clinical isolates.
