A REVIEW OF CONGESTION CONTROL ALGORITHMS IN VEHICULAR ADHOC NETWORKS (VANET)

Abstract

Vehicular Adhoc Network communication is an inescapable point of research in the field of wireless networks. Vehicular adhoc network is accountable for making a network by converting each vehicle into a wireless router or node enabling a vehicle to associate with one another. The foremost goal of vehicular adhoc network is to increase road safety and provide comfort to the passengers. As the amount of automobiles are increasing every day, traffic also increases which results in more accidents. As indicated by an investigation of Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, street mishap was the cause of death of thirteen people every hour, in India. Measurements state that about 3400 mishaps in the streets occur each day all through the world. In addition, World Health Organization uncovered that India drives the world in street passings. So to overcome these problems different methodologies should be used to avoid the traffic congestion.
