FINANCIAL LITERACY AND INVESTMENT PLANNING: A CASE STUDY OF EMPLOYED WOMEN OF PUNJAB

Abstract

The study aims to measure the impact of financial literacy on the investment planning among employed women of Punjab state. Current study was based on the primary data collected from the 400 women of Punjab state, who were either doing business or job. The study covers four major districts of Punjab namely; Amritsar, Patiala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. The mode of the data collection was survey method, and the data was personally collected by approaching the respondents in person. Researcher has used correlation analysis to measure the relationship between financial literacy and the investment planning, and simple linear regression method to measure the impact of financial literacy on the investment planning among women. It was found from the study that the Investment planning and financial literacy were found to be positively correlated to each other and financially literacy helps in doing better investment planning by women.
