India vs. China: Past, Present and Future

Abstract

It is study of two fastest growing and two most populous countries of the world that is India and China. Both the countries are emerging with time on different levels and their continued growth is likely to dominate the course of the world academy for next several decades. The study includes the sources of growth and contrast their experiences in past 5 years. The major factors of comparison are: geography including area, neighboring countries etc., demographics including population, age structure, sex ratio, net migration rate, life expectancy etc., economy including current GDP, GDP growth, unemployment, import, export, reserves, growth rate etc., health status including infant mortality rate, life expectancy, transportation including railways, roadways, waterways, ports and terminals, airports etc. Thrust is given to focus the past, present as well as future of both the countries. This study shows that China is currently superior to India and for India to match China it needs better management at all levels.
