New Perspective of the Contemporary woman in Andaleeb Wajid’s “Blinkers Off”

Abstract

Andaleeb Wajid a contemporary Indian Muslim women writer writes in English is the author of fourteen published novels, including more than Just Biryani, Asmara's summer and Twenty-nine Going on Thirty. Her young adult novel When She Went Away was shortlisted for The Hindu Young World Good Books Award (2017). She takes pleasure in writing about fictions and food, and is also a creative writing facilitator at Nutcracker Workshops. Wajid is highly interested to create a unique protagonist and in the Novel Blinkers Off she showed her protagonist Noor with a strong aspiration for her pashion to became a writer. This paper attempts to show that the contemporary young womens new perspective in accomplishing their dream.
