Abstract

Social networking sites have been able to transform the hard sales into an online personal selling. The way the social networking sites are offering the virtual space to interact and engage the customers is remarkable as it involves relatively lesser costs, time and efforts. With the advent of social networking sites, the consumers have moved and clustered themselves to social media and the firms have followed them. Secondary data has been collected using various research papers, case studies and articles etc. more than any other source internet and social networking sites have been prominently to find relevant literature. One of the most vital factors for the marketers is the augmented time that the people have started spending on the social networking sites. The time spent by people on the social networking sites is increasing rapidly. Social networking sites have come up as a mixed blessing for the marketers. On one side, where such sites offer humongous opportunities for the marketers, on the other side they also create some challenges for the marketers.
