Guru Nanak Dev Ji as the Pioneer Nirmala Reformer

Abstract

Guru Nanak Dev philosophy is entirely exhibited by Nirmala sect. In fact to preach true human religion and to discard dogmatic rituals; the manifestation of Guru Nanak Ji turned the whole Indian  aura into Bhakty. His contributions in the spread of humanism, Gurumukhi script, criticism to hypocrisy of Hindu Pandits and fanatics; spreading of divine knowledge through God knowledge and linking and illuminating god knowledge in house holders life make him the most leading figure in the reformation era. The system which Guru Nanak Dev created to bring the commoners in to main stream of bhakty(adoration) or religious observances was kirtan (spiritual congregations) and Nirmala saints played prominent role in this concern. Sikhism is indebted to Nirmala sect  for  preserving the legacy even in the dark times of Punjab history. The philosophy of Nirmala sect is the reflection of Guru Nanak Devs philosophy and further consideration of  other nine Gurus beliefs of love and spiritualism. Nirmala sect checked the erosion values of Sikhism and Gurmat. The significant action of torch bearing by this sect is the action which Guru Nanak initiated centuries back. To lead masses truly in Gurmat and to keep them in touch with the teachings of all ten Gurus is the core duty of Nirmala sect.
