Abstract

Analysis of Cr(III) doped in zinc sodium sulphate hexahydrate has been carried out at room temperature using single crystal EPR study. Crystal rotations, performed in all the three orthogonal planes indicate the presence of multiple sites, out of which two sites are fully analysed. The spin Hamiltonian parameters, obtained from single crystal investigation, are: Site I: gxx= 1.940, gyy= 2.015, gzz= 2.036, Dxx= -68.75 mT, Dyy=-1.27 mT, Dzz= 70.02 mT and Site II: gxx= 1.935, gyy= 2.027, gzz= 2.152, Dxx= - 45.77 mT; Dyy= -13.36 mT; Dzz= 59.13mT. These two sites are chemically and magnetically inequivalent and correspond to two vacancies in the lattice, which are within one unit cell distance
