A Review on Patents towards the Advances in Ceramic Biomaterials over Years

Abstract

Over the years biomaterials are tremendously undergoing advancements and are modified in one or the other way . Ceramics are one such class of materials which have been used since ages in several fields and simultaneously emerged in the field of medicine too, be it dentistry or any implantation and thus achieved focus in biomaterials. Ceramics have given beneficial results and are preferably used for implantation techniques and widely used in dental implants. They give exclusive properties and thus differs from other materials, though having some drawbacks, ceramics cover wide range of properties. This review explores the patents revealing the usage of ceramics over years, there benefits, properties, methods of producing them, their advantages over different materials.
